Dr. Mehan Siriwardhane is a Consultant General Surgeon with specialist expertise in laparoscopic and robotic hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery. He graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, as well as a First-Class Honours degree in Medical Science, before completing his general surgical training at Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2012. Alongside this he became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2013.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Siriwardhane undertook advanced subspecialty training in HPB and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at Westmead Hospital, and later completed a fellowship in minimally invasive HPB surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He also completed the ANZ HPB Association Fellowship Training Program and gained experience in liver transplant and complex HPB surgery.
Dr. Siriwardhane was appointed as a specialist surgeon at QEII Hospital in 2017 and is qualified to perform robotic surgery. He is currently practising at Greenslopes Private Hospital, offering patients advanced surgical care with a focus on precision and minimally invasive techniques.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Siriwardhane contributes to international humanitarian programs, providing surgical training through the IHPBA and holding an Honorary Fellowship from the College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka.
