Ms Mary Connolly is a fully accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist (MIACP) and the founder of Le Chéile Counselling Carlow. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from PCI College and Middlesex University, combining her professional training with her own life experiences to create a compassionate client-centred approach to therapy.
At the heart of her work is collaboration, Mary believes that each client is the expert on their own life and that counselling is most effective when it is a shared journey. Through open dialogue, careful listening, and the setting of achievable goals, she supports clients in exploring challenges and developing strategies that feel meaningful and attainable.
Mary recognises how daunting it can feel to begin counselling and deeply values the courage it takes to take that first step. Through her commitment to ongoing personal therapy and professional supervision, she remains grounded in empathy and ethical practice, ensuring clients feel respected, supported, and understood.
She works with a wide range of issues, including relationship difficulties, family challenges, low confidence, depression, destructive behaviours, stress, anxiety, and bereavement. Above all, Mary’s aim is to provide a safe and supportive space where clients can begin to make positive changes in their lives.
