About
Dr Marnique Basto is a Specialist Urologist with extensive expertise in functional and reconstructive urology, providing comprehensive care for both men and women. She manages a broad range of general urological conditions, with particular clinical interest in urinary incontinence, lower urinary tract symptoms, urethral strictures, recurrent urinary tract infections, pelvic organ prolapse, erectile dysfunction, and neurological disorders affecting bladder function.
Dr Basto completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne in 2009. She later earned a Doctor of Medical Science from the same institution, reflecting her strong academic foundation. In 2024, she was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), in addition to Fellowship of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (FUSANZ).
Her surgical expertise includes minimally invasive and robotic techniques, endoscopic surgery, prosthetic procedures, and neuromodulation therapies. She has also undertaken further robotic reconstructive training at the RMK Aimes Institute, Kulkarni Reconstructive Institute in India and New York University Hospital, further enhancing her specialist skill set.
An active contributor to medical education and research, Dr Basto serves as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney and regularly reviews for leading urology journals.
