Dr. Maria Ivanov is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with extensive expertise in general adult psychiatry, liaison psychiatry, and psychiatric intensive care. 

Dr. Ivanov completed her MBBS in Medicine at UMF Carol Davila and later achieved Membership with the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2014. She has held a variety of senior psychiatric roles across the UK, gaining invaluable experience in mental health treatment, crisis intervention, and patient-centred care.

Currently, Dr. Ivanov serves as a Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Director at Priory Hospital North London, where she plays a crucial role in developing mental health services and overseeing clinical excellence. She also holds a Visiting Consultant position at Priory Hospital North London, providing specialist psychiatric care in a hybrid setting.

Previously, she held leadership roles at Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust, where she was EMHD Medical Lead and a Consultant Psychiatrist for over five years. 

Dr. Ivanov has also trained and worked in old age psychiatry, liaison psychiatry, and general adult psychiatry, holding various registrar and specialist positions at leading NHS trusts, including Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust and Kent and Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust.

Alongside her clinical expertise, Dr. Ivanov is a passionate advocate for mental health education and leadership development. She has been involved in initiatives such as London SiMH LEADsafely and Leadersplus Alumni, aimed at advancing mental health services and supporting leadership in psychiatry.
