Dr Lalit Bhalla is a highly knowledgeable Consultant Cardiologist with over 20 years of experience. He has specialist training in echocardiography and is fully trained in all aspects of this diagnostic technique, including transthoracic, transoesophageal and stress echocardiography. Dr Bhalla has experience in assessing, diagnosing and managing a wide range of cardiac diseases.

He qualified in Medicine from the University of Sheffield in 2000 and also has a degree in Pharmacology and Therapeutics . His junior doctor training took place in various hospitals throughout Yorkshire and London before he successfully obtained a training number for Cardiology with the Welsh Deanery in 2005. Dr Bhalla has been situated in Wales ever since, and currently works at the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Since November 2021, Dr Bhalla has also taken on responsibility for being health board's Clinical Director of Cardiology.

Previously, Dr Bhalla served as Clinical Governance Lead for Cardiology for 3 years during his time with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. Clinical governance, audit and data collection play a vital role in high-procedure specialties like Cardiology, helping to ensure that practices stay up-to-date and that procedure numbers, complications are all monitored and discussed on a regular basis to maintain best possible care. As a result, he is highly informed about the latest developments in the field of cardiology, and is well-equipped to provide the highest quality care to patients.

Dr Bhalla is a member of several prestigious organisations, including the British Society of Echocardiography, British Heart Valve Society, British Cardiovascular Society, and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
