About

With over 20 years of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr Kym Jansen has a wealth of knowledge in the field. She is the current clinical lead in gynaecology at the Royal Women's Hospital and a member of the Women's Obstetric and Gynaecology Specialists (WOGS) who provide 24-hour consultant care to their patients. The team provides treatment for a range of gynaecological conditions including abnormal bleeding, ovarian cysts, pelvic prolapse, and incontinence. Dr Jansen has a special interest in endometriosis and laparoscopic (keyhole) procedures. Dr Jansen loves her work in obstetrics and enjoys playing a vital part in what is one of the most exciting times of a woman's life.

Dr Jansen also has a passion for medical education and has previously been the co-ordinator of Obstetric and Gynaecological Training at the Royal Women's Hospital. She is also currently part of a specialist team of doctors who travel to Mongolia each year to give support to and train local doctors in the area.

Dr Jansen has previously held the position of Chair for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Victorian training committee, and she is a current board member of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society.

Dr Jansen has two grown-up children and in her newly found free time, she enjoys training for marathons and travelling.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
