Dr Khadija Abdool Abdelbary is a highly experienced Specialist Paediatrician with over a decade of clinical experience working in a range of hospitals across the UAE. She currently sees patients at Medcare Medical Centre District One and Town Square.
She completed her medical degree at Gulf Medical University Ajman in 2012, during which she presented her research work at the annual GMU Conference in 2010. After qualifying, she underwent specialist training in paediatrics and passed the first Arab Board examination in 2014. She also became a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK) in 2015. She then began her residency with the Dubai Health Authority, during which she became certified by the Arab Board in Paediatrics. Dr Abdelbary holds a certificate in Ultrasound guided procedures in neonatal intensive care, from this she has expertise in central and peripheral venous access and arterial lines as well as lumbar puncture. She is also certified in Developmental Assessment with Griffiths III for early intervention and screening, as well as certified in Basic Life Support, Paediatrics Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
Prior to her current position at Saudi German Hospital, she was the Medical Director, as well as a Paediatrician, at The Children's Medical Centre in Dubai. Dr Abdelbarry has specialist expertise in all areas of paediatric health, including gastroenterology, nephrology, oncology, haematology, cardiology neurology, endocrinology, genetics and neonatal intensive care. She is able to carry out a number of procedures, including: radiology procedures, superficial wound closure and curettage. She regularly performs routine check-ups, administers vaccinations and carries out health screens and developmental assessments.
