Kai-Hendrik Bormann begann seine Karriere mit der Ausbildung zum Zahntechniker vor dem Studium der Zahnheilkunde in Freiburg/Breisgau und der Weiterbildung zum Oralchirurgen an der Universität Freiburg. Er promovierte und schloss die Fachzahnarztprüfung ab in 2006. Zudem wurde er Oberarzt der Klinik für MKG-Chirurgie Hannover. 2012 eröffnete er die Praxis für Oralchirurgie in Hamburg am Hafen.
