About
Dr Hong gained his medical qualification from the University of Sydney before completing sub-specialist training at RPA Hospital, Sydney and Mt Sinai Hospital in Toronto. He gained considerable expertise during this time, particularly in inflammatory bowel disease, laparoscopic colorectal surgery, colon and rectal cancer, and colonoscopy. Dr Hong has also achieved a Masters of Surgery and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Dr Hong has a passion for medical education and also works as an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and is the surgical coordinator for medical students at the Central Clinical School. He is also the deputy director of surgical education at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and he was named Consultant Teacher of the Year in 2018 by The RPA Resident Medical Officers Association.
