General Practice (GP)
About
Dr Zaheen says it is always rewarding to be able to help patients achieve their dreams, especially when it comes to something as significant as starting a family. In addition to her work in obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr Zaheen works as a GP, sharing her clinical expertise and providing a patient-centred holistic approach while also expanding her knowledge and experience in the field of fertility. In addition, she is an examiner for medical students.
Working as a GP, Dr Zaheen noticed that many patients and GP's are not necessarily familiar with fertility, CCG funding availability and treatment options. This can be frustrating for some patients and delay their ability to take the next step. Therefore, being a specialist working with the team in primary care gives her the opportunity to help pick up these cases early, triage them straight to the right place and manage fertility for better chances of achieving dreams of becoming parents.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
