Professor Vandenberghe is a consultant haematologist and clinical professor. Their roles include Lymphoma Clinical Lead, Haematology Clinical Director of the Cancer Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, Clinical Director of the Cancer Clinical Trials Unit and Associate Director of the Cancer Research Facility.
Professor Vandenberghe graduated from University College Dublin. They completed early training in Ireland before pursuing a PhD in the molecular pathogenesis of mantle cell lymphoma. They then went on to complete haematology training, with specific training in lymphoma diagnosis and management; including stem cell transplantation.
Professor Vandenberghe is a member of the American Society of Haematology, European Haematology Association and on the Lymphoma Working party of the European Blood and Marrow Transplantation Group. They were a founding member of the Lymphoma Forum of Ireland, a multidisciplinary, all-Ireland Group of doctors, nurses and scientists who meet for educational and research interests.
Professor Vandenberghe is active in clinical research with more than 100 peer reviewed publications which include molecular pathogenesis of lymphoid disorders and the role of stem cell transplantation and other novel therapies in the management of lymphoid disorders.
