After studying medicine at St George's Hospital Medical School, Dr Murthy trained at St Bart's and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He has worked in the NHS and privately for the past nine years and has built up a wealth of experience during this time. He involves himself in medical education and regularly supervises and trains junior doctors within the NHS.
Outside of the hospital, Dr Murthy enjoys spending time with his friends and family, travelling, and taking part in motor and water sports.
