Mr Angunawela uses the latest lens technologies including Rayner Galaxy, Alcon Panoptix, Hanita Intensity and BVI Serenity lenses in 90% of his patients. The OCL Vision clinic was awarded Best in Healthcare Outcomes in the prestigious Laing Buisson Awards 2024.

Mr Romesh Angunawela is a Director and Co-Founder of OCL Vision and Consultant Eye Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Romesh specialises in vision correction through laser eye surgery, cataract surgery, lens replacement and corneal transplantation. 

OCL Vision has established itself as the premier private eye clinic in London and has invested in the most advanced technologies including AI based lens biometry, Zeiss Callisto intraoperative astigmatism guidance, laser cataract surgery and advanced vision correction laser. 

Mr Angunawela was peer voted as one of the top 10 cataract surgeons in the UK in 2018. He has been recommended in Spear's 500 as one of the top 10 eye surgeons in the UK for the last 4 years, and is an internationally acknowledged expert in vision correction. He has won 28 international and national awards, including the National Patient Safety Award.

He was awarded a doctorate from the University of London for his thesis on corneal healing after laser surgery, and has published over 55 research papers. In 2023, he completed the Physician CEO program at Kellogg School of Management, Chicago, USA. Romesh was nominated as an inaugural board-certified fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Science (FWCRS).

Amongst other roles, Mr Angunawela is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he is a specialist in transplant surgery for Fuchs dystrophy and keratoconus. He was the first surgeon in London to perform the EndoArt artificial corneal transplant and CAIRS surgery for Keratoconus. He was Director for corneal training and Clinical Lead for the Moorfields Lions Eye Bank for 10 years.

Romesh aims for bespoke vision correction with the latest technologies in lenses and laser. He is a key opinion leader for a number of leading ophthalmic healthcare companies.
