About Prof Jamie Murphy
Biography Professor Jamie Murphy has extensive experience in all forms of elective and emergency, open and laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He has a national and international reputation for the treatment of bowel cancers that require advanced therapies due to their extent or complexity. Professor Murphy established the advanced / recurrent pelvic cancer service, the heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) service and also the intra-operative radiotherapy service for recurrent bowel cancer, at both Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Cleveland Clinic London. In addition to his expertise in cancer Professor Murphy is also an expert in the surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's disease). Professional Memberships President Elect of International Society of Digestive Surgery, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland, Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons England, Fellow of American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
