Mr George Saleh is a Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon, specialising in cataract, oculoplastic and aesthetic surgery. His surgical work includes undertaking complex cataract surgery, intraocular refractive work with toric and multifocal lens implantation, reconstruction after surgical resection for cancers of the eyelids and surrounding tissues, functional restoration of age-related changes, the treatment of watery eyes, lumps and bumps along with cosmetic rejuvenation and blepharoplasty surgery.
Consulting and operating in the Home Counties and London Mr George Saleh works out of the Spire, Ramsay and BMI Hospitals, along with Moorfields, and Harley Street private clinics.

As a senior Clinical Research Scientist George Saleh heads up several research teams in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Nanotechnology and Big Data Analytics in the field of eye surgery.
George Saleh holds a number of senior positions in academia including visiting Professor at the University of Surrey, National Institute for Health Research Faculty Investigator and Moorfields Eye Hospital Biomedical Research Centre and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, Director of Simulation Training at Moorfields, Wellcome-EPSRC Senior Clinical Fellow, Chair of the Cataract, Optometry, Refractive and Corneal Clinical Specialty Group UK, the NIHR Joint Specialty Lead in Ophthalmology for the Eastern region, along with the Virtual and Augmented Reality Lead for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
As the Chief Investigator of multiple studies, George Saleh has won various awards, published over 100 scientific papers, lectured widely both at national and international levels, been awarded numerous grants to support his research work and innovations.
Training Background
I qualified in Medicine from Imperial College, London and underwent basic specialist training in Ophthalmology in the London and the East Anglia Regions before completing in a higher specialist training at Moorfields Eye Hospital. I was awarded the Gold Medal as the most distinguished candidate for the clinical and surgical ophthalmic Fellowship Examination. During my undergraduate studies, I was awarded the highest first class distinction for my BSc including a first class honours award for my thesis in clinical applications of visual psychophysics.
After an extended subspeciality fellowship in oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital, focusing on conditions such as lid lumps, tumours and malpositions, watery eyes and lacrimal problems, along with orbitofacial cosmetic surgery and rejuvenation. I then took up a post as a Consultant at Moorfields, where I continues to work in the Cataract and Adnexal Services.
