Dr Khan became a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2018.
Dr Khan specialises in the assessment and management of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) conditions across diverse cultural settings. She has expertise in various specialised areas, including first episode psychosis (FEP) in autism spectrum disorders, FEP in adolescent ethnic minorities in the UK, schizophrenia, mood disorders, PTSD, OCD, medicolegal court report writing, entrepreneurship in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Care, and ADHD services.
As the Director of Tulip Mental Health and Community Care, Dr Khan recognises the challenges that young people and young adults face when transitioning back into the community from hospital admissions or local authority placements. Tulip Mental Health and Community Care's mission is to collaborate with local authorities, commissioning groups, and other stakeholders to create tailored placements for young individuals based on their unique needs. These placements can be either closer to their community or, in cases involving risk factors, situated away from their community.
Tulip Mental Health and Community Care provide specialised therapeutic placements staffed by an in-house multidisciplinary team with extensive mental health experience. Under Dr Khan's leadership, the organisation is dedicated to ensuring that young people and young adults receive the support and care they need during their transition and beyond.
