Dr Dimosthenis Petsas is a highly experienced anaesthetist with a strong academic and clinical background in regional anaesthesia and analgesia. He began his healthcare career with a Nursing Degree in Greece in 1998, followed by a Medical Degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2005. He completed his specialist training in Anaesthetics at Hippokratio General Hospital, a large tertiary centre in Thessaloniki, earning his Title of Specialty in 2013. He has also pursued postgraduate education in France, obtaining a Nursing Degree, Medical Degree, and Postgraduate Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia and Analgesia from Montpellier University.

Dr Petsas has worked across a wide range of healthcare systems and clinical settings, including hospitals in Greece, Germany, the UK (Peterborough City Hospital), and the UAE. He has extensive experience in multiple specialties such as General Surgery, ENT, Bariatrics, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, and Cardiac/Thoracic Surgery. 

His clinical and research interests focus on ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia and orthopaedic surgery. He has published on regional techniques, including the first reported case of an erector spinae plane block in Greece, and has spoken internationally on chronic postsurgical pain. An Associate Member of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, Dr Petsas also reviews for several medical journals. Outside of work, he enjoys travelling and cultural exchange.
