Deirdre Fahy is a neurodivergent psychotherapist with a unique perspective, having been diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 48. This diagnosis brought clarity to her own experiences of generalised anxiety and feeling ‘different,’ which in turn deepened her passion for supporting adults with ADHD and Autism Spectrum conditions.
Deirdre works flexibly with a wide range of issues, often discovering the real concern as therapy progresses. She provides a safe, confidential space for clients, allowing therapy to unfold at their own pace. Drawing on various therapeutic modalities, her primary approach is person-centred, based on the work of Carl Rogers, where she offers unconditional positive regard and genuine empathy. Her non-judgemental approach ensures clients can express themselves fully, without the need to censor their thoughts.
In addition to person-centred therapy, Deirdre is trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MBCT), and has certification in ADHD support for neurodiverse clients. Her services include CBT, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and more, tailored to meet the individual needs of each client. Deirdre’s diverse training and holistic approach ensure that she can adapt her practice to best support her clients on their therapeutic journey.
