About
Dr Blair earned First Class Honours in neuroscience from the University of Nottingham and later completed a DPhil (PhD) in behavioural neuroscience from the University of York in the UK. His academic journey further expanded with two Postdoctoral Research Fellowships, one in behavioural neuroscience and the other in mesenchymal stem cell therapies. These fellowships took him to prestigious institutions like the Victor Chang Research Institute (Sydney) and Mater Medical Research Institute (Brisbane).
Dr Blair has gained invaluable clinical experience at Royal Prince Alfred and Liverpool Hospitals, honing his skills in the treatment of diverse neurological disorders. His subspecialty interests are anchored in stroke and neurovascular illnesses, neurophysiology and neuromuscular disorders, and neuroimmunology - a spectrum that includes multiple sclerosis.
As the SPHERE Translational Research Fellow in Neurovascular Medicine at the Ingham Institute of Applied Medical Research, Dr Blair leads groundbreaking research utilising cutting-edge imaging techniques for stroke and neurovascular diseases. His expertise includes high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and FDG-PET/CT. He is also deeply involved as an Associate Investigator for over 10 clinical trials and has an impressive portfolio of over 70 publications. In 2020, he showcased his research at major international conventions in the US and Europe.
