About Dr Catherine Pitman
Dr Catherine Pitman is a Clinical Pathologist and Microbiologist. Dr Pitman works closely with Directors at NSW Ministry of Health and their clinical peers to develop appropriate advice and input to address pathology-related system issues. Dr Pitman is a member of the NSW Health Service Design Reference Group for Pathogen Genomics. They have also held advisory roles with the Australian Digital Health Agency, and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia as Chair of the Pathology Information, Terminology and Units Standardisation working group. Dr Pitman's interest in pathology data and the insights that can be gained from large amounts of it began with a project examining infectious diseases in cerebrospinal fluids in the late 1990s.
