Für seine herausragenden wissenschaftlichen Leistungen wurde ihm 1994 der Titel eines außerordentlichen Universitätsprofessors verliehen. 1994 erlangte er das Zusatzfach für RHeumatologie und 2016 die Zulassung als Sachverständiger.
