About
Dr Anojan Navaratnam is an experienced Consultant Urologist specialising in Urological Cancers and Endourology. He's a member of Brisbane Urology Clinic and works as a consultant Urologist and robotic surgeon at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. He is the director of Urology at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital.
After being raised in Brisbane, he completed his medical degree with honours at the University of New South Wales in 2007, followed by his urology surgical training in Queensland. Dr Navaratnam later completed a two-year fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, USA—a distinction that sets him apart as the sole Urologist in Queensland with such world-class training. He is also a Member of the Endourological Society.
Dr Navaratnam is one of the most experienced robotic surgeons in Queensland. His has specialist expertise in a range of robotic surgeries, including radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, radical cystectomy with ileal conduit or neobladder, and ureteral reconstruction. He also has expertise in treatment of benign prostate hyperplasia performing holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP), TURP and Rezum
Dr Navaratnam has independently assessed results that place him in the top percentage of surgeons in the country for prostate cancer surgery (robotic radical prostatectomy) with regard to clear surgical margins and recovery of urinary and sexual function.
Dr Navaratnam has subspecialty interest in Urological cancer (Prostate Cancer, Bladder Cancer and Kidney Cancer) and treatment of Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH).
