About Prof Alastair Noyce
Professor Alastair Noyce is a highly experienced Consultant Neurologist at London Bridge Hospital, renowned for his exceptional expertise in movement disorders, particularly Parkinson's and related conditions, as well as tremor. In 2007, Professor Noyce completed his medical degree as well as his Bachelor of Medical Science degree in Molecular Pharmacology at Queen Mary, University of London. He later undertook an esteemed academic clinical fellowship in neurology funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). This fellowship was based at University College London and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, enabling him to integrate clinical practice with cutting-edge research. His dedication to advancing knowledge led to a clinical research training fellowship from Parkinson's UK, which further honed his research skills at University College London from 2012 to 2016. During this time, he also earned a Master's degree in epidemiology with distinction from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Also in 2016, Professor Noyce successfully completed his PhD in Neuroscience at University College London. Professor Noyce's exceptional contributions to the field of neurology, specifically in understanding Parkinson's disease, neurodegenerative diseases, risk factors, and early detection, have garnered him international acclaim. His groundbreaking research is published in esteemed peer-reviewed journals, and he frequently presents his work at key national and international conferences. Additionally, Professor Noyce possesses a keen interest in brain health and the genetic factors influencing the risk of neurodegenerative diseases. In recent years, he has conducted extensive research on the risks associated with recreational nitrous oxide use and has developed substantial experience in managing affected young patients. Alongside his current clinical practice, Professor Noyce holds key positions at Queen Mary, University of London as the Lead of the Preventative Neurology Unit, the Centre for Preventative Detection and Diagnosis, and the Wolfson Institute of Population Health. In addition, he plays a crucial role as a principal investigator in PREDICT-PD, a project focused on detecting Parkinson's disease before the onset of movement problems.
