Dr. Abid Qazi is a highly accomplished Pediatric Surgeon with over 32 years of experience in the field. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan, in 1990. Following his graduation, Dr. Qazi pursued residency training in Pediatric and General Surgery at the Children’s Hospital (Pakistan Institute Medical Sciences), Pakistan, from 1991 to 1997. His dedication and expertise earned him the prestigious title of Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in 1997.
In 2004, Dr. Qazi relocated to the United Kingdom, where he underwent specialised training in Pediatric Surgery. He successfully completed his training and obtained an Intercollegiate Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Pediatric Surgery. Additionally, he was granted a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR). In 2022, Dr. Qazi was further recognised for his contributions to the field with the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
Returning to Pakistan, Dr. Qazi dedicated five years to serving as a Pediatric Oncology Surgeon in a busy cancer hospital, where he provided exceptional care to his young patients. His commitment to paediatric surgery led him to join the Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital in Dubai, UAE, as a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon prior to joining Danat Al Emarat.
Dr. Qazi's expertise covers a wide range of paediatric surgical procedures, including solid tumour surgery such as wilms tumour and liver tumour resections, laparoscopic procedures such as fundoplication and cholecystectomy, scarless appendicectomy, hernia repair, biliary atresia surgery, and vascular access procedures for children undergoing dialysis or renal transplants. With his extensive experience and compassionate approach to patient care, Dr. Qazi continues to make a positive impact in the field of Pediatric Surgery.
As a general pediatric surgeon, Dr. Qazi as performed over 8000 circumcisions in community Circumcision clinics that he established in the United Kingdom.
