Dr Abhishikta Dey is a dedicated and compassionate clinician who provides care guided by up-to-date evidence. Dr Dey specialises in the treatment of autoimmune and rheumatic conditions. Dr Dey is actively involved in teaching and is the coordinator for the Rheumatology Unit for the Master of Medicine at The University of Sydney. Dr Dey is also involved in coordinating the teaching program for Rheumatology Advanced Trainees in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.
Dr Dey has additional training in the management of patients with chronic pain. Dr Dey studied medicine at The University of New South Wales where they obtained a Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMed) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) with distinction. Dr Dey completed their physicians and rheumatology training at Royal North Shore Hospital and Liverpool Hospital. Dr Dey also completed one year of a pain fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and one year of a fellowship in the management of medical conditions in pregnancy at Campbelltown Hospital.
Dr Dey is an advocate for Early Career Rheumatologists and is actively involved in the Australian Rheumatology Association Early Career Group committee. Their research interest is in patients of reproductive age with rheumatic conditions and the implications for their rheumatic conditions and pregnancy outcomes. Dr Dey has a number of publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
