About Aaron Shalan-Webb
Aaron Shalan-Webb is a cognitive behavioural therapist with over eight years of experience in mental health, working across NHS and private sectors. He provides both individual and group therapy to adult and adolescent clients with mild to complex presentations, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. At Nightingale Hospital, he supports individuals experiencing a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, bulimia nervosa, depression, panic attacks, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and work-related stress. Aaron applies a person-centred approach rooted in evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). His sessions aim to empower clients by helping them explore how thoughts, behaviours, physical symptoms and emotions interact in response to internal or external triggers. Through this work, clients can identify patterns, gain insight into what maintains their difficulties, and develop strategies for meaningful change. He runs therapy groups on CBT for depression and anxiety, stress management, assertiveness, creative writing, family programmes and DBT. As a lead CBT/DBT therapist, he previously established a comprehensive DBT programme for adolescents within a private inpatient service. Aaron is also actively involved in research and has presented his work at Goldsmiths, University of London, and at the North American Society for the Study of Personality Disorders in Pittsburgh. His approach integrates other therapeutic modalities such as Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), allowing for tailored treatment plans that support lasting change and improved wellbeing.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
