We were the first organisation to provide Open and Upright MRI scanning in England and are the leading specialist upright and open MRI service in the country. We are recognised as the leading specialist centre for helping patients with specialist needs to complete their scan and help them with their ongoing healthcare and treatment.
Our staff have the most experience in helping claustrophobic and anxious patients complete their scan in what can otherwise be a difficult event for patients elsewhere. We are also able to assist larger individuals who may not be able to comfortably fit in a conventional tunnel MRI as well as those who are unable to lie flat for an extended period of time. Patients are very welcome to come and see our scanner prior to their scan, sit in the scanner if they wish to familiarise themselves with it and discuss their anxieties with our experienced staff to alleviate any concerns that they may have at that point.
Our Open and Upright MRI scanners are completely different from conventional tunnel MRI scanners, as well as other so-called “open” scanners where you are still required to lie down. Our highly experienced team of doctors who provide the clinical report for patients includes the most experienced team of radiologists from the Leeds General Infirmary as well as other leading radiologists in the country.
We have extended hours of working during the week on selected days with early morning appointments from 8 am and early evening appointments as well.
