Zwischen 1993 und 2001 arbeitete Dr. Werfel als Assistenzärztin an der Johns Hopkins Universität, Hautklinik am Biederstein und der Hautklinik LMU München. Später bekam sie die Anerkennung zum Hautfacharzt, Zusatzbezeichnung Allergologie und Zusatzbezeichnung Phlebologie Weiterbildung.

Dr. med. Iris Beckmann schloss ihr Medizinstudium im Jahr 2000 an der Universität Ulm ab. Anschließend arbeitet sie bis 2005 als Assistenzärztin und Fachärztin am Universitätsklinikum Göttingen in der Dermatologie. 2006 erhielt sie ihre Zusatzbezeichnung in der Allergologie und seit 2020 ist sie anerkannte Hautfachärztin.
