Mr. Zubeir Ali is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at The Royal London Hospital, part of the Barts Health NHS Trust, where he has served for over a decade. As the Kidney Stone and Endourology Lead at this prestigious institution, he brings a wealth of expertise to his role. Mr. Ali completed his undergraduate medical studies at UCL and the University of Glasgow, before undertaking his specialist postgraduate training in the North West Deanery, gaining comprehensive experience in a wide range of urological conditions. To further refine his subspecialty knowledge, he completed a post-CCT fellowship focused on Kidney Stone Surgery and Complex Endourology.
A highly skilled and high-volume kidney stone surgeon, Mr. Ali is an expert in all aspects of kidney stone management, including shockwave lithotripsy, ureteroscopy with laser, and Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL), including miniaturised PCNL. He is proficient in independently establishing PCNL tract access and also collaborates with colleagues on complex cases that benefit from robotic surgery using the Da Vinci Xi robotic system. In addition, Mr. Ali leads a specialist Metabolic Kidney Stone Clinic dedicated to reducing stone recurrence. He is also an experienced general urologist, providing emergency on-call services at a tertiary teaching hospital.
Mr. Ali serves as the Education Lead for Urology at The Royal London Hospital.
