His PhD, completed at King’s College London, explored the role of commensal skin bacteria in conditions such as psoriasis and eczema and was supported by the Medical Research Council, the British Association of Dermatologists, and the British Skin Foundation. His research has earned national recognition, including awards from the Royal Society of Medicine and the British Society of Investigative Dermatology.
Dr Alwan has contributed to numerous clinical trials and published widely in respected journals, including Cell Host & Microbe and the British Journal of Dermatology.
