Dr William Hunt
Dermatology
About
He has particular expertise in skin cancer management and Mohs micrographic surgery, which he performs regularly in dedicated NHS surgical lists. This technique allows precise removal of skin cancers while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible, improving both cure rates and cosmetic outcomes.
Dr Hunt completed his dermatology training across Bristol, Exeter, and Plymouth, followed by a highly competitive fellowship at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, one of Europe’s leading centres for Mohs surgery. During this fellowship, he gained advanced experience in cutaneous oncology, nail surgery, and laser dermatology, performing a large volume of skin cancer operations.
Before returning to the UK NHS, he worked as a Consultant Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon in Wellington, New Zealand. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the New Zealand Dermatological Society.
Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in research, sustainability in healthcare, and medical education. He leads the international Dermatology Sustainability Network and has contributed extensively to peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and national teaching initiatives.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
