He treats adult patients with a range of heart rhythm issues, including palpitations, irregular heartbeats, heart racing, dizziness, blackouts, and fatigue.

He is an expert in managing conditions such as Atrial Fibrillation, Atrial Flutter, Supra-Ventricular Tachycardia, Wolf Parkinson White syndrome, Ventricular Ectopy, Ventricular Tachycardia, Bradycardia, and Heart Block.  Dr Luther is one of the few cardiologists in the northwest UK performing a high volume (~150 per year) of potentially curative catheter ablations (including Atrial Fibrillation, Flutter and SVT) and implanting complex pacemakers.

Dr Luther’s NHS practice is based at the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital, voted consistently “outstanding” by the CQC, and one of top specialist heart hospitals in the world.  Here, he has won x3 “Clinical excellence awards”, and national IWantGreatCare certificates of excellence (2023 & 2025) in recognition of consistently outstanding patient feedback.  He has been a speaker for the “Arrythmia Alliance” and “Atrial Fibrillation Association” patient education days.

Dr Luther is a well known Cardiologist in the UK for his passion for education, having designed the cardiology education website www.cardiowebinar.com, finalist in

the HSJ partnership “best educational programme in the NHS”.

Dr Luther graduated with Distinctions from University College London and completed advanced heart rhythm training at the prestigious Hammersmith/St Mary’s Hospitals in London. Dr. Luther has an international reputation for complex arrhythmia research (Atrial Fibrillation/ Atrial flutter/ Ventricular Tachycardia) and holds a PhD from Imperial College London, and continues to publish extensively year on year.  He is regularly invited to present his work at international meetings.  His research in this field earned him the American Heart Rhythm Society’s 2019 “Eric Prystowsky Fellow Clinical Researcher Award.”
