About Dr Travers Weaver
Dr Travers Weaver is a highly regarded ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon, known for his expertise in both medical and surgical retinal diseases, as well as ocular oncology. With extensive international sub-specialty training, including two years as the W.H. Ross Fellow at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Dr Weaver is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centred care. He is dedicated to building strong relationships with his patients, offering a calm and compassionate approach that helps them feel reassured throughout their treatment journey. Dr Weaver’s areas of expertise include the management of retinal tears and detachments, macular holes, diabetic eye conditions, complex cataract surgeries, and ocular trauma. He is also skilled in the treatment of floaters and pterygium surgery. His medical journey began at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, where he graduated with First Class Honours and The University Medal, before earning the prestigious KG Howsam Gold Medal for his ophthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital. As an investigator in international clinical trials, Dr Weaver stays at the forefront of his field, regularly publishing scientific research. He is also a VMO at Princess Alexandra Hospital and trains the next generation of ophthalmologists.
