About Tom Conlon
Mr. Tom Conlon is a psychoanalyst, psychotherapist and group facilitator. I integrate psychoanalytic, cognitive behavioural and dialectical behavioural approaches in my clinical work, tailoring therapy to the needs of each individual.
Therapeutic Approach
My practice ranges from short-term, goal-focused therapy such as solution-focused brief work to longer-term psychotherapy and psychoanalysis where deeper exploration is required.
Qualifications & Accreditation
I hold an MSc in Clinical Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from University College Dublin and completed the four-year Specific Modality Training Programme in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at The School of Psychotherapy (TSOP), St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin. I'm a fully accredited member of the Irish Forum for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (IFPP) and I am registered as a Psychotherapist with the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP).
I also hold a QQI Level 9 Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from IICP College in Dublin and have completed the DBT Intensive Plus Programme with Marsha Linehan’s Psychwire, which includes clinical skills training and DBT team development. I'm a member of the Society for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy in Ireland and the UK. In addition, I have been awarded a Diploma in Group Work Practice by the Irish Institute of Group Analysis and have extensive experience in facilitating groups.
Areas of Inclusivity & Special Interest
I work affirmatively with LGBTQ+ clients and I adapt my therapeutic approach for individuals who are autistic or neurodivergent.
