Dr Talat Uppal is an obstetrician and gynaecologist and director of Women's Health Road, a multidisciplinary Sydney-based medical centre. She also serves as a visiting medical officer at both the Northern Beaches and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospitals. Dr Uppal is committed to family-centred maternity care and takes an innovative and integrated approach in her practice. She enjoys supporting women on their health journey and is able to build strong connections with her patients to give them the best quality care.
Dr Uppal is highly qualified and has a diploma of diagnostic ultrasound (DDU) which gives her advanced skills in evaluating ultrasound results. As the director of Women's Health Road, she has pioneered a unique, digitally integrated, interdisciplinary obstetric and gynaecology service with in-house ultrasound capabilities. Dr Uppal is passionate about medical education and also works as a clinical senior lecturer in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Sydney.
Prior to starting her own clinical practice, Dr Uppal was based at Manly and Mona Vale Hospitals, and she has also spent time as the chair of the NSW State Reference Committee and NSW RANZCOG Education Subcommittee. Currently, she is a RANZCOG media spokesperson and supports general practitioners in women's health.
Dr Uppal has three children and is a dedicated advocate of gender equality, diversity and women's health.
