About Dr Simon Pearse
Dr Simon Pearse is a Consultant Cardiologist with wide experience in general cardiology and specialist interest in heart failure, pacemaker and complex device therapy. His NHS practice is at Kingston Hospital, where he is Clinical Lead for Cardiology, and at St George's Hospital. Dr Pearse graduated with distinction from Edinburgh University and completed his Foundation training in the west of Scotland and core medical training at Charing Cross and Hammersmith hospitals in London. He then trained in cardiology on the north-west London rotation, including specialist fellowships in heart failure and devices at the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals. Dr Pearse completed his MD Research into heart failure, devices and sleep apnoea with Professor Cowie and the heart failure service at the Royal Brompton Hospital and Imperial College National Heart and Lung Institute. Dr Simon Pearse regularly implants pacemakers, loop recorders and complex CRT and ICD devices and performs angiography. He was a member of the BCS Education Committee and he is the UK Chief Investigator for the PERSEPOLIS and CALLIOPE studies. He has published numerous articles in leading international journals and presented at international conferences.
