Seine medizinische Ausbildung absolvierte er an der Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, wo er von Oktober 1998 bis Dezember 2004 studierte und sein Staatsexamen in Humanmedizin erlangte. Im Anschluss begann er auch an der Charité seine ärztliche Tätigkeit unter Norbert P. Haas in der Klinik für Unfall- und Wiederherstellungschirurgie am Campus Virchow-Klinikum, wo er bis zu seinem Wechsel an die BG Unfallklinik 2008 arbeitete.
