With a diverse background spanning neurodevelopmental psychiatry, rehabilitation, learning disability psychiatry, and personality disorders, Dr Achuthan takes a holistic and compassionate approach to patient care. He is dedicated to delivering detailed assessments and tailored treatment plans that empower individuals and families to manage challenges effectively.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr Achuthan is a leading figure in UK psychiatry. He serves as Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists South West Division and leads the Approval Panel for Approved Clinicians and Section 12 doctors across the Midlands and East. His leadership and contributions to education and research have earned national recognition, including Consultant of the Year (2023) and Medical Director of the Year (2024).
Dr Achuthan’s qualifications include an MBBS, MRCPsych, Master’s and Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry (University of South Wales), Fellowship in Addiction Medicine (University Malaya), and Senior Fellowship in Medical Leadership and Management.
