About Prof Rosan Meyer
Prof. Rosan Meyer has almost 30 years of experience in paediatric nutrition. She completed her degree in Dietetics in South Africa in 1996, followed by a Master’s degree in Paediatrics in 2004 and a PhD at Imperial College London in 2008. She specialised in paediatric nutrition in the UK and has built an international reputation in the fields of food allergy, feeding difficulties and growth. Until December 2015, she was the principal research dietitian for gastro-allergy at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, where she led research into the impact of gastrointestinal food allergies on children and their families. She then collaborated with the allergy team at Evelina Hospital as a research dietitian until 2018. Alongside her academic and research roles, she runs a busy paediatric dietetic practice in London, specialising in growth faltering, food hypersensitivity (both IgE and non-IgE mediated), feeding difficulties including ARFID, nutritional support and aversive eating (including picky eating). Prof. Meyer is trained in the SOS feeding approach and has completed introductory training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). She has also undertaken training to support families wishing to follow plant-based diets for their children. Her particular research and clinical interest lies in the relationship between growth (macro and micronutrient intake, feeding difficulties and food hypersensitivity. She runs a virtual feeding clinic with a specialist speech and language therapist and online webinars for parents on feeding difficulties (i.e. picky eaters) for toddlers. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and books on paediatric nutrition, food allergy and feeding disorders, and is co-author of the Paediatric Dietetic Pocket Guide, which provides practical guidance on nutritional management in paediatrics. Prof. Meyer was the Food Hypersensitivity Module Lead for the MSc in Allergy at Imperial College London until the end of 2023. She is currently a Visiting Professor at KU Leuven in Belgium on their MSc in Deglutology (swallowing disorders) and leads the ARFID course for ARFID Awareness UK. She is leading multiple task forces for the European Academy for Allergy and Clinical Immunology. https://www.rosan-paediatricdietitian.com/
