About Dr Dr Richard Tee
Dr Richard Tee graduated from medicine at The University of Adelaide and went on to specialise in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in New Zealand, which he later became a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.Dr Tee is also fellowship-trained in various aspects of microsurgery (head and neck, extremities and lymphedema), as well as, hand & wrist surgery at renown international centres in Taiwan (Linkou/KaoHsiung), Sweden (Uppsala) and Australia (Melbourne).Besides his clinical training, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Tissue Engineering at the Bernard O’Brien Institute of Microsurgery/University of Melbourne on research with the aim improving reconstruction outcomes, something he continues to work on. He also published extensively in various areas of reconstructive and hand surgery. Dr Tee has appointments as consultant specialist with both Orthopaedic Hand Surgery Unit (Monash Health) and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Unit (Monash Health and Western Hospital). His clinical work focuses on both hand and reconstructive microsurgery. Dr Tee is also active in the education of junior doctors and continue to engage in basic science, clinical and translational research.Dr Tee regularly consults and performs minor procedures from our rooms in Donvale and consults monthly from our rooms in Drouin. He operates privately from Knox Private Hospital in Wantirna, Mulgrave Private Hospital in Mulgrave and Maryvale Private Hospital in Morwell.
