Following this, he was given a scholarship from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and went on to conduct pelvic floor research as a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan.
He has written a number of peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, as well as edited or co-edited three specialist publications, including the Oxford Textbook of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He is also an academic at four medical schools including Honorary Reader in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St George's University of London and Associate Clinical Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the American University of the Caribbean.
Additionally, he is the founder and lead of CHORUS - An International Collaboration for Harmonising Outcomes, Research and Standards in Urogynaecology and Women's Health.
