About Prof Michael Douek
Professor Michael Douek is an international expert in oncoplastic breast surgery offering the full range of expertise in breast surgery including second opinions. He is a professor at the University of Oxford and his NHS practice is based at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford. He is also Visiting Professor of Surgery at King's College London and at the University of Hong Kong. Previously he was Professor of Surgical Oncology at King's College London and Honorary Consultant Surgeon at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals in London. Professor Douek has a specialist interest in the development and evaluation of novel techniques in surgical oncology and is himself a pioneer with regards to magnetic guidance surgery, intra-operative radiotherapy and implant reconstruction for breast cancer surgery. He is The currently the Chief Investigator for several international clinical trials and maintains a very active and prominent role for research into breast cancer. He was awarded the prestigious Hunterian Professorship by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
