About Dr Paul Ferguson
Dr Paul Ferguson is a Consultant Haematologist with over 17 years of experience, currently practising at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, as well as The Harborne Hospital (part of HCA Healthcare UK), Spire Little Aston Hospital, and Nuffield Health locations in Wolverhampton and North Staffordshire. He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant and benign haematological conditions, with particular expertise in myeloid and lymphoid malignancies and bone marrow transplantation. He also serves as Lead Clinician for Haematology and Acute Oncology within his NHS trust.
Dr Ferguson graduated in Medicine from the University of Birmingham, where he also completed a first-class honours degree in Biomedical Science and a PhD in cancer research with a focus on molecular biology. His haematology training was based primarily at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, during which he was appointed Academic Clinical Lecturer. His research included early-phase clinical trials, bone marrow transplantation, and the genetics of acute myeloid leukaemia, conducted in collaboration with both Oxford University and the University of Birmingham. He has authored numerous high-impact publications and received a national award for his research.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists. He offers both in-person and video consultations.
