Consultant Robotic & Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeon
Lead for Colorectal Cancer Surgery – Luton and Dunstable University Hospital
Mr Parthasarathi Das is a leading consultant colorectal surgeon offering advanced robotic and laparoscopic procedures to private patients across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and North London. As the clinical lead for colorectal cancer surgery at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, he performs a high volume of robotic colorectal cancer operations, combining cutting-edge technology with meticulous technique to deliver optimal outcomes and faster recovery.
Mr Das is also a regional authority in robotic and laparoscopic hernia surgery, with particular expertise in complex abdominal wall and parastomal hernias. He is currently the only surgeon in southern England offering laparoscopic anterior and posterior component separation for large, multi-recurrent hernias. For patients with stomas, he performs robotic parastomal hernia repair using the Sugarbaker technique—a specialised approach that offers durable reinforcement and excellent long-term results.
In addition to surgical treatment, Mr Das provides diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, including polyp removal, biopsy, and endoscopic management of bleeding or inflammation. These procedures are delivered with a focus on early detection, precision, and patient comfort.
His specialist areas include:
• Robotic colorectal cancer surgery and minimally invasive treatment for diverticulosis and inflammatory bowel disease
• Robotic and laparoscopic hernia repair, including groin, abdominal, parastomal, and multi-recurrent cases
• Robotic Sugarbaker technique for parastomal hernia repair
• Diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, including polypectomy and biopsy
• Laser treatment for haemorrhoids and anal fistula
• Management of ano-rectal conditions such as fissures and warts
• Collaborative surgery for advanced gynaecological conditions, including endometriosis and complex hysterectomies
With over 30 years of surgical experience, Mr Das first qualified in 1992 and completed a prestigious three-year research fellowship at St Mark’s Hospital, London—an internationally renowned centre for intestinal and colorectal disease. His consultant roles across London and Surrey have shaped a career defined by innovation, precision, and patient-centred care.
Mr Das is committed to helping patients make informed decisions and receive the highest standard of surgical treatment. Private consultations are available for those seeking expert advice, second opinions, or advanced robotic procedures in colorectal and hernia surgery, including robotic Sugarbaker repair and colonoscopy services.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
