Dr. Ozan Hanci is a highly experienced Consultant Paediatrician at The Royal Surrey County Hospital, where he has worked since 2014. He trained at St. George's Hospital Medical School between 1997 and 2002 and began his specialist paediatric training in the London deanery in 2003. Dr. Hanci's work involves providing care for a wide range of paediatric patients, from premature infants to adolescents and young adults with complex chronic illnesses such as cancer. He has been awarded SPIN accreditation from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (BSPGHAN). He has led the Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) service at The Royal Surrey County Hospital since 2014.
With a strong interest in clinical nutrition, Dr. Hanci holds an MSc in this field, and his dissertation on coeliac disease was used in a government consultation. His research has been presented both nationally and internationally, and he has received awards for his contributions to the field.
Dr. Hanci also contributes to medical education. He has served as the Paediatric College Tutor in Guildford and the Deputy Undergraduate Tutor for Paediatrics, responsible for the training of medical students from Southampton University, St. George's University, and physician associate students from the University of Surrey. Additionally, Dr. Hanci holds honorary contracts as a Senior Lecturer at St. George's University of London and as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Surrey.
