About Mr Oliver Robert Blocker
Mr Oliver Blocker is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in knee and hip surgery, appointed to a substantive NHS post in North Wales in 2020. He trained in Wales and at the renowned Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry, before completing fellowships at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter, the Southmead Major Trauma Centre in Bristol, and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. He graduated in medicine from King's College, London in 2005, training at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital. He gained an MSc in Education from Cardiff University in 2013. Mr Blocker has expertise in first-time total and partial knee replacements, as well as revision surgery for complex knee and hip replacements. He offers regenerative therapies for patients with joint pain. In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Blocker is passionate about education and research in trauma and orthopaedics. He holds an honorary appointment as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at Bangor University, where he delivers NHS research trials in North Walesand and enjoys training the next generation of surgeons from Cardiff and Bangor Universities .
