About Dr Nick Walsh
Dr. Nick Walsh is a Consultant adult psychiatrist with a particular interest in helping neurodivergent individuals and those with overlapping physical and mental health challenges. His work focuses on understanding how conditions like ADHD and autism interact with anxiety, depression, trauma, and physical health issues, especially in women and LGBTQ+ individuals.
His approach is deeply informed by years of experience working at the interface of physical and mental health, including time spent in the NHS helping patients navigate complex, interconnected issues.
He works primarily with adults (over the age of 18), including:
• Women: ADHD and autism are often underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed in women. Emotional dysregulation, masking, and fatigue are common challenges that he can help address.
• LGBTQ+ Individuals: Discrimination and stigma can compound the challenges of mental health and neurodivergence. Dr Walsh provides an affirming space to explore these issues.
• Highly Functional Individuals: Many of Dr Walsh's patients mask their struggles, whether those are with anxiety, impulsivity, or difficulty regulating emotions, sleep, or appetite.
He sees private patients at Priory Wellbeing Centre Harley Street and remotely.
Dr Walsh qualified in medicine in 2006, at the University of Manchester, after which he began his psychiatry training in Manchester. He continued his training in London, within top hospitals such as St Barts and the Royal London Hospital and was subsequently appointed Consultant at the East London NHS Foundation Trust in 2014, upon completion of his training. He worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist at some of the UK's leading teaching hospitals for several years.
Dr Walsh bases his practice on holistic, personalised treatment and aims to accurately understand what his patients are having difficulty with, to give them access to the most helpful treatment and advice.
