She also supports patients experiencing psychosomatic symptoms, including chronic pain, sleep disturbances and fatigue. She has also worked at the German Neuroscience Center in Dubai and Heidelberg University’s Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. In addition to her clinical and academic roles, Dr Balkir Neftci has contributed to mental health support for asylum seekers through voluntary work in Istanbul and has published widely on the influence of culture on psychological disorders and therapeutic outcomes.
