Dr. Muhammad Khalifa is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Head of Department with extensive expertise in foot and ankle surgery, trauma, sports injuries, and joint reconstruction. He graduated with honours from Ain Shams University in 2003 before completing his orthopaedic residency at the prestigious El Helal Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital, one of Egypt’s leading orthopaedic teaching hospitals. He later obtained his MSc in Orthopedics from Ain Shams University in 2009.
During his early career, Dr. Khalifa developed a strong passion for trauma and reconstructive orthopaedics, leading him to join Rashid Hospital as a full-time Orthopaedic Surgeon and Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedics and Trauma. Recognising the increasing need for specialised foot and ankle care within the region, he pursued advanced international fellowship training in Switzerland, South Africa, and Spain, further refining his expertise in complex foot and ankle surgery and arthroscopy.
His professional training includes Foot and Ankle Fellowships in Basel, Johannesburg, and Barcelona, an Ankle Arthroscopy Observership in Bellvitge, Spain, an AO Trauma Fellowship in Dubai, and a Diploma in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. He also serves as an AO Trauma Faculty member in the UAE and has contributed extensively to orthopaedic education and surgical training throughout his career.
Dr. Khalifa’s clinical interests include sports injury management, arthroscopic surgery of the knee, foot, and ankle, hip and knee joint replacement surgery, fracture management for adult, geriatric, and paediatric trauma, deformity correction, and the management of diabetic and Charcot foot conditions. He is recognised for combining advanced surgical techniques with patient-centred care to help patients regain mobility, improve function, and achieve the best possible long-term outcomes.
