He then undertook his Orthopaedic training on the Severn training rotation, and complated his fellowship (shoulder & Elbow) training at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.
He was awarded the prestigious Robert Jones Gold Medal and also the Kessel prize on two consecutive occasions. He was also given the Henry Smith research scholarship by the Royal College of Surgeons. He had also been awarded a Mayo Elbow fellowship which provided him the opportunity to travel to the USA and work with the renowned expert Dr Shawn O'Driscoll in elbow surgery.
